Day by day

Day 01 : Arrival at the airport – Transfer to Baktapur

Arrival at the airport – Transfer to Baktapur

Namaste! On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will receive a warm welcome and be transferred by taxi to Bhaktapur, the former royal capital with its well-preserved architectural heritage. This medieval city, situated at an altitude of 1,400 metres, offers your first opportunities to observe urban species adapted to traditional Nepalese environments. Check-in and overnight stay in a traditional lodge.

Day 02 : From Baktapur to Syabrubesi, then a walk to Poïro

From Baktapur to Syabrubesi, then a walk to Poïro

Early morning departure for Syabrubesi (1,950 m), the gateway to Langtang National Park. A scenic drive through various vegetation zones. First approach walk to Poïro (11⁄2 hours), allowing you to gradually get into your stride and make your first observations in the deciduous forests. This transitional zone offers a wonderful diversity of forest species. Overnight stay in a lodge in Poïro.

Day 03 : Poïro - Rimche

Poïro - Rimche

A day’s walk through mixed forests of rhododendrons and conifers. The trail winds along the Langtang River, offering ideal conditions for morning birdwatching. This section passes through a lush rainforest, perfect for spotting woodpeckers and treecreepers. The gradual ascent allows you to observe how the birdlife changes with the different vegetation zones. Arrival in Rimche in the late afternoon. Overnight in a lodge.

Day 04 : Rimche - Godhatabela

Rimche - Godhatabela

A gradual ascent towards Woodland through dense coniferous forests. This area provides an ideal habitat for many mountain species. The walking pace is tailored to birdwatching, allowing you to make the most of the birding opportunities offered by this unspoilt forest environment. Check-in at the Woodland Lodge, the ideal base camp for specialist birdwatching. Evenings at the lodge are spent reviewing the species encountered and preparing for the following day.

Red Panda Observation Point at Woodland – Rock Thrush Spotting

A special day dedicated to spotting two iconic species! A specialised morning excursion to try and spot the red panda, a rare and elusive species found in bamboo and rhododendron forests. This day spent on the lookout requires patience and discretion, but offers unique opportunities for sightings.
