Day by day
Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu and immersion in the medieval atmosphere of Bhaktapur
As soon as you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be met by our team and taken to the historic city of Bhaktapur. This medieval architectural gem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be your first introduction to Nepal’s rich culture. Its cobbled streets, ancient temples and unspoilt atmosphere will offer you an inspiring first glimpse for your future sketches. The golden twilight light on the red bricks of the temples already promises exceptional compositions.
Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu and immersion in the medieval atmosphere of Bhaktapur
As soon as you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be met by our team and taken to the historic city of Bhaktapur. This medieval architectural gem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be your first introduction to Nepal’s rich culture. Its cobbled streets, ancient temples and unspoilt atmosphere will offer you an inspiring first glimpse for your future sketches. The golden twilight light on the red bricks of the temples already promises exceptional compositions.
Day 02 : Bhaktapur – An introduction to traditional Nepalese arts
This whole day will be devoted to immersing yourself in Nepalese artistic traditions. In the morning, you will take part in an authentic pottery workshop with local master craftsmen, learning the traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. The afternoon will be devoted to a traditional Nepalese painting class, where you will discover the art of Thangka and its natural pigments. These techniques will enrich your own artistic expression during the trek.
Day 02 : Bhaktapur – An introduction to traditional Nepalese arts
This whole day will be devoted to immersing yourself in Nepalese artistic traditions. In the morning, you will take part in an authentic pottery workshop with local master craftsmen, learning the traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. The afternoon will be devoted to a traditional Nepalese painting class, where you will discover the art of Thangka and its natural pigments. These techniques will enrich your own artistic expression during the trek.
Day 03 : From Kathmandu to Pairo – First steps in the Himalayas
After a delicious breakfast, you will leave the Kathmandu Valley for a scenic journey to Shapru Beasi (7–8 hours). The road winds through ever-changing landscapes, offering plenty of opportunities for quick sketches capturing rural Nepalese life. On arrival, you will begin your first 2-hour walk to the village of Pairo, situated at an altitude of 2,200 metres. You will be greeted by the first views of the surrounding mountains, as well as the warm hospitality of the locals.
Day 03 : From Kathmandu to Pairo – First steps in the Himalayas
After a delicious breakfast, you will leave the Kathmandu Valley for a scenic journey to Shapru Beasi (7–8 hours). The road winds through ever-changing landscapes, offering plenty of opportunities for quick sketches capturing rural Nepalese life. On arrival, you will begin your first 2-hour walk to the village of Pairo, situated at an altitude of 2,200 metres. You will be greeted by the first views of the surrounding mountains, as well as the warm hospitality of the locals.
Day 04 : Trek to Durshange Dada – Immersed in the Himalayan landscapes
This day marks your true immersion in the Himalayan environment. The 4–5-hour trek (7 8 km) will take you through rhododendron forests, deep valleys and ancient paths used by local people for centuries. At Durshange Dada, the panorama that unfolds before you will provide the perfect backdrop for your first mountain watercolours. Your accompanying artist will share specific techniques for capturing the immensity and majesty of the Himalayan landscapes.
Day 04 : Trek to Durshange Dada – Immersed in the Himalayan landscapes
This day marks your true immersion in the Himalayan environment. The 4–5-hour trek (7 8 km) will take you through rhododendron forests, deep valleys and ancient paths used by local people for centuries. At Durshange Dada, the panorama that unfolds before you will provide the perfect backdrop for your first mountain watercolours. Your accompanying artist will share specific techniques for capturing the immensity and majesty of the Himalayan landscapes.
Day 05 : The climb to Mu Kharka – The beauty of the highlands
The trail to Mu Kharka (3–4 hours, 5–6 km) takes you through high-mountain landscapes, with the vegetation gradually changing. The high-altitude meadows (kharka in Nepali) offer the perfect setting to observe the lives of the shepherds and their flocks. You will reach this unspoilt spot where you will stay for two nights, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in the local environment and culture. After settling into this exceptional setting, you will take part in your first artistic session with the snow-capped peaks as your backdrop.
